Todd Lamb : Driver
Biography
Lamb will debut in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series GT class in 2010 with Racers Edge Motorsports. In the Rolex 24 At Daytona, he will drive with Jordan Taylor, Glenn Bocchino and Jade Buford. Todd Lamb pairs up with Bocchino for the duo’s second season as co-drivers. In 2009 they had a best finish of second at Mazda Raceway in the GS class.
Personal
Lamb, from Atlanta, GA, was the Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup series champion in 2009, and is driving for MAZDASPEED this season in the #30 Rolex GT RX-8 along with his ST duties. Todd Lamb has been racing since age 10. He currently resides in Atlanta, GA. He is the founder and former publisher of 2Wheel Tuner magazine and Speed, Style, & Sound (S3). He graduated from Kettering University in Flint, Mich., with a degree in mechanical engineering. Lamb spent 10 years as an engineer in the automotive industry working on seat belts, airbags, and seating. He participated in High Performance Driving Events in a race-prepped Corvette Z06 from 2001 to 2005. Lamb has enjoyed multiple spots on the podium including the MX-5 cup chamionship in 2009, and as the NASA Spec Miata chamion in 2008.
Racing Career Highlights
2009
Landed 18th in Grand Sport points standings after driving in 10 of 11 races with co-driver Glenn Bocchino and Kinetic Motorsports. Claimed best finish of second at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and six top 10s, including five straight at one point. Led two races for 28 laps.
2008
Started three GS races with best finish of fourth at Barber Motorsports Park, driving for Kinetic. Also made four starts in Street Tuner class for Bill Fenton Motorsports, with best finish of fourth at Daytona International Speedway.
2007
Competed in seven ST races for Bill Fenton Motorsports, with four finishes of sixth or better and a season-best result of third at Lime Rock Park.
2006
Debuted in ST competition, running four races for three different teams with best finish of sixth at Barber driving for Powell Motorsport.
GRAND-AM/Racing History
2009
Earned eight victories and seven poles en route to SCCA Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup championship. Competed in 25 Hours at Thunderhill.
2008
Won NASA National Championship in Spec Miata. Won SCCA 13 Hours of Virginia International Raceway in Spec Miata.
2004
Competed in Spec Miata Milwaukee Cup, Bondurant Drifting School and Bridgestone Driving Academy.
2003
Taught at Skip Barber Driving School as Corvette Track Day Driving Instructor.
2001
Finished fourth overall in SKUSA National Championship, rookie year in 125cc shifter kart racing.
2000
Earned WKA Sprint Series Championship.
1999
Won a local oval track karting championship, and also posted several road course victories.
1998
Competed in Skip Barber Formula Dodge Pro Series and Speedvision Cup action.
